At Speciality Cakes, we believe every celebration deserves a cake that’s as special as the moment itself. We’re Sarah and Jenny—two bakers and cake lovers with a shared passion for creating beautiful, bespoke cakes that bring joy to life’s big (and little) moments.

Meet us
Sarah
I’m Sarah, co-owner of Speciality Cakes. My baking journey took me from advanced pastry training at Brooklands College to a role as Head Pastry Chef at The Complete Angular in Marlow. From there, I honed my craft at the prestigious Lenôtre Patisserie School in Paris and continued developing my skills at La Boulangerie, specialising in traditional French gâteaux.
In 1996, I joined the Speciality Cakes team, and six years later, I took over the business with my mum, Rosemary. We brought fresh ideas while staying true to the shop’s roots, building a reputation for quality and care. Today, I’m excited to partner with Jenny as we take Speciality Cakes into a new era—one filled with creativity, collaboration, and cakes made with heart.
Jenny
Hi, I’m Jenny—co-owner, decorator, and cake designer at Speciality Cakes. My journey started at Brooklands College, where I trained in cake decorating and catering. I first joined Sarah at Speciality Cakes right after graduating and spent four amazing years developing my style and skills.
Later, I joined Jane Asher Party Cakes in Chelsea, spending ten years perfecting my craft and eventually becoming kitchen manager. After taking some time out to raise my two wonderful daughters, I’m thrilled to return—and even more excited to be co-leading Speciality Cakes alongside Sarah. Whether it’s a wedding, birthday, or any milestone in between, I love bringing people’s cake dreams to life.

Located in the heart of Knaphill village and serving the wider area our boutique shop offers a carefully curated selection of high-quality cake decorating essentials — from piping tips and edible colours to handy tools and more. Need tins or cake stands? We’ve got those available for hire too.
Our friendly, knowledgeable team is here to support you every step of the way. Not sure which nozzles to use? Curious to try new techniques but don’t know where to begin?
